I pay the REPAYE minimum every month, though no payments since COVID started which has been nice. I live in a dilapidated one-bedroom apartment in a second-tier city. No pets. I drive a 2003 Toyota with over $150,000 miles on it. As an aside, a Boomer partner once casually explained to me that I should get a nicer car because clients expect their lawyer to "look the part." My clients are all proles who nitpick and contest their fees, they also regularly lie to me and/or withhold crucial information about their cases because they view me as just as much of an adversary as the insurance company. I have not had sex with a biological human in ~3 years.
On the positive side, I am over 1 month sober and looking into making a career change (previously drinking bottle of vodka per day--including sips from a water bottle at work). |

But the truth is, you can't be like them - because those "nice" professors have set it up to steal $300,000 of your future earnings.
