Ok China is obviously on a major winning streak in all aspects and while some claim it comes through irresponsible levels of debt (empirically untrue) the other aspect here is they are pursuing a socialist state and keeping the private capitalists in constant check. /

This means that the financial markets are not as significant a restraint on the govt as it is in capitalist states. This means profitability is not the sole determinant of economic planning.
Clearly we realize in the US, that these are major constraints on our success.

The state can prioritize social stability, energy and climate reform, wage and land equality, and international development, without asking its bankers and capitalists how to achieve it.

Those who predict China's collapse couched it in ways that mirrored repeated US economic meltdowns. Debt crises, housing bubbles, etc. No way China emulates us yet avoids our meltdowns... unless they're hiding something!

But it seems the real secret here is how they are *not* emulating our success, and thus avoiding our problems.
China has problems, they're just not the same as ours.
Makes them highly inconvenient as an object to project our own failures onto.

We are just coming to realize this, and Biden's claim now is that China is essentially cheating through "authoritarianism."
But in my estimation, it is about the relative freedom that Chinese leadership has from the private sector, esp from the financial sector.

The US govt is an absolute servant to financial markets. It is the WMD that can bring our entire system down. Because as a capitalist system, finance is the very core of our entire culture and way of life.
There is no other way than through Wall Street.
