I don't think anything touches the Saturn for average IQ and frankly being popular only in Japan is going to provide a boost. Similar for something like the Turbographix but I have like no sample size for that. 3DO was expensive, but the company was founded by "Trip Hawkins," and the best-selling games were all retarded. The average IQ may be above average but I picture these consoles being one of a plethora of toys owned by privileged children who undoubtedly tended to have somewhat higher IQs than average. I'd place it at 105. I think the high-earning fathers had higher IQs than this but most were probably divorced and buying toys/games to fill the void, causing children to not reach their potential. The fact that the games sucked matters less than you think since the kids didn't actually play them. Jaguar was similar, and has to be lower, it just wasn't as exclusive. More outright absentee fathers in this cohort. I just can't put it higher than PS1 though. Idk, 100. |

Most of the low-selling consoles that appeal to Losers have higher IQs such as the Saturn, but I just don't know about the Wii U. Nintendo's Soy contingent is retarded at its core and I figure kids are getting dumber due to immigration, which is why I have IQs trending down as a whole. |

Sega CD was a tough one, it had a balance of the extremely dumb shit that you'd associate with the Scummy 32X cohort like Night Trap, but also had Kojima's Snatcher. It was a console with an identity crisis, but was certainly higher than the Genesis average. And with an introductory price of $299 and all but No Games, it was popular with UMC kids whose parents used toys/games as a surrogate for love. For these kids, these consoles served not as gaming devices, but rather as Totems, emblematic of their parents' love, lack of Games notwithstanding. Anyway, I could go as high as 103 in the early days, dropping SHARPLY with price drops. |

These probably sold like 150k units in the U.S. Again many of the Sega CD/3DO etc. kids were retards with rich boomer parents who had tons of toys, probably played for like 90 minutes total in between dirtbike/3-wheeler sessions and fighting other children. The Nintendo fans on the other hand were largely dorks who actually played video games. Basically nothing on any Sega console gets its due but it is what it is. It's not unlike the N64 in this regard in that many of the fans are gone from this world and thus aren't on the internet to defend their console. |
