The fucking ridiculously bad gameplay and high difficulty and sequel that no one remembers — factors heavily in favor of the Genesis. Whenever western devs composed music for the Genesis, it sounded insidious and Scummy which is what you WANT.

SNES version adds some new background graphics to take advantage of the extra tilemap layer, but it runs in a lower resolution and probably has less animation. SNES can't use as much memory for sprites and it has less data per megabyte of cartridge rom because it doesn't handle compression as well.
