"YOU MUST GET VACCINATED UR GONNA KILL US ALL!"
"But you're vaccinated, what do you have to fear?"
"THE VACCINES DON'T ACTUALLY PREVENT YOU FROM SPREADING, CATCHING, OR DYING FROM COVID, BIGOT! THEY JUST MAKE IT LESS LIKELY YOU'LL GET SICK FROM CERTAIN STRAINS FOR A VERY LIMITED TIME!"
"Oh"

Even if this were true, it necessarily means that the "vaccines" aren't true vaccines, but limited-time therapeutics largely similar to flu shots.
The problem is, ofc, whether this is true or not is debatable. It seems they're effective against some strains for some amount of time. Not really a panacea. In fact, using a mixed-efficacy vaccine may be making things worse by promoting evolution of the virus.
There's good evidence out of Israel that doing nothing - i.e. pursuing widespread natural immunity - would actually be the CR versus leaky vaccines + endless boosters

Glad you asked, ardent acolyte of Science!
Generally speaking, pre-2021 getting a vaccine meant you were effectively prevented you from getting the illness it was developed to combat. E.g. the polio vaccine meant you were never getting polio. I.e. a vaccine was a medical treatment that prevented a disease from occurring. This was largely different from yearly proactive treatments like the flu shot, which are always somewhat effective against some strains of a virus, and really more of a therapeutic than an actual vaccine.
Now, to be sure, some vaccines have always required boosters. But these are usually years apart and done out of an abundance of caution. That these COVID "vaccines" need them within 5-6 months due to waning efficacy places them in the same vein as flu shots and should give us a bit of pause.
Of course, the CDC updated the definition of what a vaccine does from prevent disease to produce immunity in 2021, so the definition is officially somewhat muddled:

None of that is remotely true.
1. A “vaccine” is an intervention to prime an immune response. A “therapeutic” treats symptoms. The Covid vax does only the former, not the latter.
2. There has never been a vaccine that is 100% effective. Ever.
3. The flu “shot” is a vaccine with much lower effectiveness than the Covid vax and only a literal retarded person would dispute that it’s a vaccine.

It's all true, actually.
I know you have a hard time with established scientific concepts like chromosomes and secondary sex characteristics, but the fact that you can still get, transmit, and die from COVID while under the "protection" of the miracle vax doesn't help any of your points here.
Not a lot of folks checking into the ER with a post-vax "breakthrough" of polio. In fact, none.

(guy who didn't get all his polio shots)
Look, man, if getting three shots of COVIDvaxx had the same lasting effectiveness as getting three shots of poliovaxx, that would be great. But that isn't the case.
The trajectory is that of the flu shot, with annual (if not more often) shots and seasonal variations in effectiveness. For a rapidly-evolving respiratory illness, this seems like a very poor thing to mandate as necessity.

lol, no. did you get that from facebook?
there are actually several dozen types of bacterias and viruses that were attributed to "polio", and in fact, once the usage of certain pesticides and chemicals were stopped, polio cases dropped dramatically.
in reality, you get polio by being around poisonous chemicals and not washing your hands.

Everything that you have said here misses the point.
Something can do major good in eliminating a bad outcome but still not eliminate all the bad outcome. That does not mean we don't implement it.
You mention public policy in the above poast, but it's almost like you don't want to understand this concept.

"Something can do major good in eliminating a bad outcome but still not eliminate all the bad outcome."
The lib brain, folks.
It's like they willfully refuse to acknowledge there were other options besides crappy vaccines and forced mandates. Like, you know, doing nothing and developing natural herd immunity, the best of all outcomes.

No, I have trouble with lib concepts like man in dress = woman, not with your midwit "It's not just black and white, man!" arguments, which I believe I last heard sometime in junior high.
It's really simple, libs, there is another course of action we could pursue besides social hysteria over a virus with a 99%+ survival rate, crappy vaccines, and insane mask wearing ghost dances. We could just accept this virus as a fact of life, pursue natural immunity, and perhaps cloister the most at risk populations. This is the best outcome with the least amount of societal wreckage.

"are not widespread against all variants"
citation needed
"temporary in nature"
Like a flu shot? Yeah, so what? All indications are they provide significant benefits for months, and the "oh noes vaccine efficacy is waning" hysteria is mostly media pearl clutching.
"may lead to a worse overall outcome down the road"
Citation needed. The "may" cause the sky to fall. Or they may not. We have actualy good data showing the benefits. Hypothetical dreamed up detriments aren't really a great counterweight.

Oh, what a panacea!

The Israeli data clearly demonstrates that natural immunity is superior, the vaccines have waning effectiveness against new variants, and that you can still get sick and dead from COVID post-vaccination.

Yes, the Israel data appears to show natural immunity is superior to vaccine-induced immunity (it also shows that natural immunity + one vaccine shot is superior to anything else).
That doesn't mean the vaccines are ineffective or "failing."

Your safety is assured in the medical context. There are risks to everything associated with medical care.
I presumed it wasn't necessary for me to have to say that. But I recognize that some really dumb folks here are seething ITT because they can't seem to get a win in, so I should have known better.
With that caveat, let me be clear: Your safety from the vaccine is assured.

Can you answer or not? Please say what you mean. I'm not a mind reader.
Let's make it easy, and start from the beginning again. Do you agree with this statement:
"You getting the vaccine would reduce the chance that you will spread covid on to someone else."

The established risks are myocarditis, etc. that the CDC has admitted. I'd wager there are additional risks but I don't know what they are. I haven't seen any clear explanation of the VAERS data for starters. Frankly I see no benefit to getting this vaccine so the burden of proof is on those who want me to get it to provide evidence. They'd be better served providing informed consent of the risks than parroting "safe and effective" propaganda.

What is the risk of developing myocarditis as a result a vaccination.
What is the risk of developing myocarditis as a result of Covid?
Answer these questions and you will have your answer. I am not saying you can understand it, but at least you might be more circumspect about spreading lies on the topic.

Personally I would assume my risk is higher with the vaccine vs. risk of catching covid and developing myocarditis, but I'm open to seeing evidence to the contrary.
For those without prior infection or vaccine it's a good point and worth explaining with clear data.
If you think you haven't spread lies on this topic you are delusional and beyond help.

It's a probability thing.
Wearing a seatbelt is actually a pretty good analogy. Doesn't make a fatal or injurious crash impossible, but certainly makes it less likely.

If I don't wear my seat belt and you do, that doesn't harm you at all.
Vaccine nutjobs are essentially claiming that me "not wearing a seat belt" DOES hurt you, and the reason it hurts you is because the "vaccines" aren't actual vaccines, just limited-time therapeutics of questionable efficacy against emergent strains.
The seat belt analogy is SPS for a variety of other reasons, as poasters above have pointed out.

"when you vaccinate someone and they come in contact with a disease, if the disease isn't entirely killed off, the resistant portions are able to spread, thus eliminating the weaker portions of the disease and making the disease more efficient and stronger down the line."
Talking about this in terms of "portions" is not helpful. Every time the virus replicates, there is a chance it replicates with a mutation. With every mutation, there is a chance it makes it more transmissible, or more virulent (rarely both).
All the evidence I've seen indicates that a virus is going to replicate *fewer* times in a vaccinated person versus an unvaccinated person, so there will be *fewer* mutations generated than if that person were unvaccinated.
The vaccine resisant mutations (or anti-biotic mutations, or what have you) do not develop *because* of vaccines. That is an ass-backwards understanding of evolution. The *other* variations die out *because of* vaccines (or anti-biotics). You haven't explained why we would get *more* variants or more variants of concern with higher vaccination rates.

It's quite relevant.
And Iron is correct AFAICT that you are going to get more mutations in an unvaxxed person than in a vaxxed person. You are just going to have a better biological environment for mutations developing in a body that doesn't already have vaccine-induced keys for keeping the reproduction of the virus down in general.
I will say that as a layperson it certainly seems plausible to me to suggest that you will also get dangerous mutations somewhere, somehow, in some individual who has been vaxxed, and at least a few of those will be very powerful, overwhelming the vax-induced antigens. But that doesn't mean that a mutation enhancing its transmissibility will happen at the same time as it enhances its virulence--that's pretty unlikely, apparently.
I think the odds favor Iron's viewpoint significantly, although I will agree that I don't KNOW this to be true--it only seems more plausible than the alternative.

You seem keen to change the subject. But:
"All the evidence I've seen indicates that a virus is going to replicate *fewer* times in a vaccinated person versus an unvaccinated person, so there will be *fewer* mutations generated than if that person were unvaccinated."
This does not get you to the idea that vaccinated people are causing mutations of the virus more than unvaccinated. The breeding grounds are significantly smaller in the unvaccinated, for a start, and this would contradict the idea that vaccinated people are breeding mutated superbugs by virtue of being vaccinated. You have to have lots of breeding to start, before you even get to the possibility of a mutation.
If the breeding is dampened significantly in a body as a result of the vaccine, then there are not as many mutations taking place as in a body without the vaccine. Get it?

"Stronger" and "weaker" is a stupid way to describe mutations.
I don't think you are understaning (or really trying to understand) the mechanisms at work.
I am genuinely interested in an explanation as to why more vaccinated people would result in more, or more concerning, variants, but "vaccines = stronger virus" isn't an explanation.

Ok, I think we are getting somewhere.
So, let's take your example. 100 vaccinated people get exposed, 95 fight off no problem and don't spread it to anyone, and 5 can't fight it off (we are presuming it's because of some pre-existing mutation that makes it vaccine resistant, I guess?), and spread it. You've got fewer cases of Covid going around, but it's 100% the vaccine-resistant variety.
So what's the alternative? Without vaccination, all 100 of those people are spreading the strains they got, including the 5 people who got the vaccine-resistant variety. Why is that better?

"how could it be vaccine resistant if it has no exposure to the vaccine? the vaccines force the virus to mutate. virus meets vaccine -> mutates to resist it."

They then infected all the birds with strains of Marek’s that varied in how virulent — as in how dangerous and infectious — they were. The team found that, over the course of their lives, the unvaccinated birds shed far more of the least virulent strains into the environment, whereas the vaccinated birds shed far more of the most virulent strains. The findings suggest that the Marek’s vaccine encourages more dangerous viruses to proliferate. This increased virulence might then give the viruses the means to overcome birds’ vaccine-primed immune responses and sicken vaccinated flocks.
Immunization is also making once-rare or nonexistent genetic variants of pathogens more prevalent, presumably because vaccine-primed antibodies can’t as easily recognize and attack shape-shifters that look different from vaccine strains. And vaccines being developed against some of the world’s wilier pathogens — malaria, HIV, anthrax — are based on strategies that could, according to evolutionary models and lab experiments, encourage pathogens to become even more dangerous.

What you just quoted has nothing to do with how mutations arise (and it's a good example of why understanding the terminology like "virulence" is important to having a productive conversation).
Attention-seeking headlines aimed at lay readers aside, vaccines, antibiotics, etc. do not "push" viruses or bacteria to change. Rather, like all evolutionary pressures, they create environments where naturally-occurring mutations thrive or do not thrive.
I will read the article more fully, though, as it might have a more cogent explanation you haven't provided.
Edit:
Ok, I read the article.
First, like most articles for a widespread audience, it's kind of shitty on presenting actual data.
If you haven't learned to be skeptical of sentences from journalists like "Worse, in recent decades, the virus has become more deadly," without any data to back it up, you probably need to recalibrate your bullshit detector.
Second, the author misuses terms with defined meanings, like "virulent," which she defines to mean "how dangerous and infectious" a virus is. Being more virulent does *not* mean being more "infectious." There is usually an *inverse* relationship between virulence and how infectious (or easily transmissible) a virus is.
Now, if you actually read the PLOS paper the article is based on, it posits a reasonable hypothesis: Highly virulent (i.e., deadly) strains typically die out because they kill their hosts, but vaccines that prevent death (but not infection) could result in hosts spreading those virulent strains more.
Yet, neither that PLOS paper nor the Quanta article compare a high-vaccination-rate scenario to a no- or low-vaccination-rate scenario.
Also, the PLOS paper doesn't deal at all with "vaccine-resistant" strains.

See my response below.
Why does this hypothetical as applied to corona virus in any way excuse the taking of a vaccination in your case now? Or in anyone's case?
Isn't this only a response to someone saying that you are selfish and uncaring by not getting the vaccine and decreasing the odds that you will pass the virus on to others? Like, still an attempt to paint yourself as a good guy who doesn't want to create a monster virus unlike all those scientists, physicians, world leaders, epidemiologists and public health officials out there?
But why would any concern in this regard be a "now" problem when the "now" problem is a pandemic/600,000 dead? Serious question.

It’s not even AntiVax issues man - it’s the fact that there is a huge population that has natural immunity to Covid and they’re being forced to subject themselves to a procedure that could be extremely dangerous for them relative to uninfected people for no quantifiable reason in the US.
Europe and Israel accept natural immunity as being sufficient and equal to vaccination while the US has ignored it completely for the past year and only just now is beginning to begrudgingly acknowledge its equivalency or superiority to vaccines.
Yet even now no significant effort is being made to further study it or scientifically approach the situation on a rational basis like other countries and it’s being left up to people who are facing medical apartheid who are functionally not a “threat” to anyone to aggressively fight for their civil rights which have been unjustifiably stripped away for no reason.
There’s a big difference between people who refuse all vaccines and those who simply do not see a reason to be subjected to one like this that is redundant, which could affect them in a worse way than the broader population. I had chickenpox as a kid so I didn’t get the vaccine.
Another thing that’s absurd is the degree of cross immunity that exists between SARS (and I assume MERS) and Covid-19. People who had SARS are immune to Covid-19 after 17+ years. Think about that for a moment when it comes to durability of immunity.
What’s even worse is that some of these people who recovered would donate blood with natural antibodies to help immunocompromised and older people - but now they’re are demonized by the same people who praised them as heroes.

I think it's worse in the following metrics:
Schools, work, fun stuff all continuing to get cancelled or postponed. Wearing masks everywhere. Shit not running right because there aren't enough workers to do the basic jobs right now. I've said before on here that there's built into these things a degree of irrational response, and we all have to accommodate the irrational response that unfortunately accompanies these retards' constant nonsense.
I also think it's worse in metrics associated with health generally but would like to see data on it.
Basically, the longer these losers drag stuff out the longer we are going to be inconvenienced and troubled by Covid as a society.
If you think that just letting them catch covid and die like morons won't harm the state of our covid response notwithstanding, then I think I can back your view.

Ok, but "Schools, work, fun stuff all continuing to get cancelled or postponed. Wearing masks everywhere," that's all because of covid *policy*, not because of Covid. The shortage or workers is also more because of covid policies at this point (i.e., benefits) I think.
Well, letting people catch covid isn't going to cause most of the people who catch it to die, but it will impart immunity (at least for a while).
It's true (I think) that vaccination will slow the spread, but if catching covid isn't really all that bad for the vaccinated (I'm sure it sucks for a lot of people, but not crisis level compared to a bad flu year), then I'm fine with people setting their own risk tolerances.

Anything but just treating it like it's over?
There's no guarantee that even a 85% vaccination rate will make it "over."
Once you reduce the risk to reasonable levels for everyone willing to get vaccinated, which I think we've done, I say lift the restrictions.
If it looks like a particular area is going to have full ICUs or something, then I can see a stronger case for imposing restrictions.

Like I said in the OP, the vaxxes are effective against certain variants and for a certain amount of time. We should probably give them to old + sick people.
All vaccines carry risks. These ones have become so politicized it is likely the risks are being downplayed. Even remote chances of myocarditis, blood clots, and the like are serious.
It's not that they're "bad." It's that mass vaccination and endless boosters is suboptimal to other directions.

First, let's clear up the notion of a "perfect vaccine". For some reason, people get it into their heads that only a perfect vaccine can be a "vax". It really isn't. Just because something is highly effective doesn't mean it's a perfect vaccine. In fact, it's quite often the opposite.
A perfect vaccine would be the most highly effective treatment possible, for as many people as possible. That is not the case with vaccinating.
