Marcia Sells told an LLM student's brother (his emergency contact) not to see him in the hospital after having him subjected to an involuntary psychiatric exam without reason, and possibly after directing staff at the Harvard-affiliated hospital to destroy the involuntary emergency admission certificate.

Marcia L. Sells sent students she had bullied letters on Harvard Law School letterhead telling them not to communicate with ANY Harvard faculty or staff without her personal approval if they wished to graduate.

Marcia Sells was a monster and an absolute freak. So many students hated her. She was a pathological liar and a sociopath, and she got caught. She was pushed out before more complaints crashed down on John Manning's (and Robert Sitkoff's) cowardly heads.

these people are very frequently petty tyrants. they have a small area of nearly complete control combined with an unsatisfying (yet lucrative a stable) job. they have a lot of disdain for the people they're suppose to serve, and often exercise their authority to punish those they feel have slighted them. or just because they can.

The summary doesn't really provide motive for the dean (or dean of students, rather) to have done this, but he claims she quit, and that doesn't really jive with her having not done something pretty wrong (or maybe just something foolish)

That alone would explain the whole situation -- some admin-student spat, that the admin could have solved by giving some stupid paperwork so he could hie to yale or columbia or wherever, but she didn't because she is a dumbass, then he said "u screwed me out of years of education" so they canned her for handling it so stupidly and making it unsolvable

Maybe that's the whole story. Which would explain why they are telling him to reapply...
