I work with some fucking idiots who are always broke and dumb as hell, and they seriously think they're going to win the lottery or some idiotic "sweepstakes" that has like a 1 in 500,000 chance of winning anything. One bitch actually asked me about how she could sign up for a company contest that is really just a scam to harvest email addresses and phone numbers. She actually thinks she's going to strike it rich, and didn't seem at all discouraged after I carefully explained how unlikely it was that she would ever "win" anything. It's sad that these people are breeding, and even more tragic that I have to deal with them on a daily basis.

My mom used to get excited by those Readers Digest letters in the 1980s that said “You may have already won!” on the outside of the envelope. And she’s not that prole.

Remember Publisher's Clearinghouse? My elderly relatives used to carefully fill out the forms and select which mansion/luxury car they wanted to buy after "winning" the contest. But it was just about selling magazine subscriptions.

Lol yes. I don't think mom ever did those ones, but she probably did without telling anybody.

lmao i'm pretty sure i read that was a huge scam where they only gave money away to friends of the people who run it

same thing with the mcdonalds monopoly game millions - for like a decade it went to the friends/family of the guy who printed the stickers

Proles also always think they are profiting off their spending of $50-100 of their paycheck on lottery tickets every two weeks. It's not a "maybe I'll get lucky one day it's my only hope" situation. They think they win more than they put in.

does your store sell lottery tickets?

i talked with a friend who worked at a gas station in high school, and he said that the lotto and scratch-off shit was something you wouldn't even believe unless you worked there. buying that stuff was literally a part of people's daily routine. he had regular customers for lotto sales, and some people came in multiple times a day to buy scratch-offs.

i wonder how much in government wages is returned back to the government in the form of lottery sales?

No, but I believe it. We sell cigarettes and get the sad old ladies who come in every morning.
