I have been saying this for quite a while.
They distort the comparison with the vaccinated because they don’t control for time of infection v. time of vax in most studies. I think the most dominate factor is delta, because the viral loads are so high, unless you are rolling around with a lot of active antibodies, you will get infected if you have any significant exposure to it.
What they don’t tell you is that reinfection is almost exclusively mild. Zero reports or any material number of deaths (or even hospitalizations) on reinfection.
And the immunity to SARS1 at 17 years was T-cell not antibody immunity.
Antibodies wane. That’s what they do, they have to, but long term immunity remains and while you might get a cold or whatever (I was fine minus a loss of taste/smell and a little fatigue on reinfection), but your body (B cells, T cells) recognizes the disease and makes some new antibodies and nips it in the bud.
Second time around it’s a cold, first time around it’s a cold for most people for that matter. |

This is the key. If you have natural or vaccine immunity, yeah, you might get reinfected after a few months, but who cares? It's unlikely to be a big deal unless you've got some significant comorbidity. |
