Date: October 24th, 2021 12:15 PM Author: Charcoal frozen indirect expression My law school let us do "Independent Research" flame on a PASS/FAIL basis and the result only had to be ten pages per credit hour-- so effectively it was a way for them to sell credit hours without faculty doing anything, they just read the paper and said, "Yeah, that's not a fail." They capped this at 12 (for a degree that required, IIRC, 88 credits), so of course for 2L/3L I did three credit semesters per hour.
Basically flipped through the volumes of lower ranked law reviews and cribbed from some obscure article. Very hard to detect and it's not like the professors gave a fuck. Still had nightmares for years that I would be "found out". Now I have an in-house job where, technically, I don't need the law degree or bar card at all, so even if the school yanked my degree it wouldn't really matter. Still have nightmares sometimes. Everyone was happy. I took the lsat and got a 164 and was super excited about the prospect of going to university of Miami for free. Then I found TLS and XO and JDU and retook the LSAT as a result of the advice. Got a 168 and got into a better school. Now I have debt and ruined my life.
