Sopranos was great at depicting the 'fall' of the mafia -- like the storyline about Tony selling out his real estate holdings in the old neighborhood to a conglomerate to bang their real estate agent while new businesses that can't pay protection money move in. The movie COULD'VE focused on how the mob and Italians left Newark but it did a shit job at it while marketing itself as a movie about how Dickie mentored Tony (which was like 8% of the movie's plot).
