Mark Twain had some comments on the book and mentioned that JS used a few crutch phrases over and over. Still doesn't make it unimpressive.
He was either a savant or a master con artist. At times he made the people transcribing what he said be separated from him by a curtain. Maybe he had written parts of it previously. |
