2015 Ram 1500 Laramie. It's been a great truck. 140k miles though. I'm going to get rid of it in the next month or so and replace with a Jeep Wrangler or 4Runner TRD in a year or so when the prices come down (hopefully).

That's likely where I'm headed. The wrangler would be fun to do some rock climbing and offroading in, but it's pretty useless otherwise. Also I'd end up spending an extra $5k plus to get it set up for that. The 4Runner is so versatile and will be great for road trips.

I think much more so with modifications. That being said, I think that the 4Runner TRD can do just about anything anybody would want to do except possibly some of the rock climbing stuff that the wranglers excel at. I'm by no means an expert, though.

Would you go with the TRD Offroad or go balls to the wall and get the TRD PRO?

The extreme rock climbing shit doesn't look fun to me at all. It looks really stressful. I kind of just want to to moderate offroading.

I would probably just go TRD Offroad - mostly because I'm cheap. I think the only difference performance wise is the upgraded springs and shocks.

There's a cool place in Marble Falls, TX (not too far from me) that teaches you to do the rock climbing stuff and also general offroading skills. I went with my buddy and his Jeep Wrangler. It was really fun. That being said, probably only something I would do 3-4 times per year. There's also pretty much no way to do that and not fuck your shit up a little.

Trd offroad seems to be the sweet spot IMO though I'm biased. The markup on the trd pro models is insane now too. $15k over msrp. I think you're right that the only difference aside from leather seats is a slightly better suspension.

I'm pretty sure that you can find the leather seats option on a regular TRD. Worst case you can get those put on after purchase.

yeah i think there's a premium package that includes leather seats. Inventory is just really low right now so it's almost impossible to find the exact trim and options combo you want. There are really nice after market leather seat covers that go for like $400-700.

How has your experience been? My only expensive fix has been the ABS module, which failed at around 100k miles. I think that the transmission shift solenoid is about to fail. It threw up a code a few months ago that went away.
