So rice explains both population and culture since Asian cultures are stereotypically more focused on social harmony and collectivization as opposed to Western ideas regarding rugged individuality. Northern Chinese provinces which primarily relied on wheat for sustenance tend to be far more independent, entrepreneurial, etc. than Southern Chinese provinces that are dependent on rice production to feed the population. There's a reason almost all invasions of China occur from the North: those people lead a tougher, more hard scrabble life compared to the southerners who got their basic needs taken care far more easily due to a cheap and relatively reliable food source.

Contrast this with what Europeans had to face when migrating out of the Levant. Europe was a forested shithole. That meant you had to clear the land of trees, their roots, etc. before you can plant a single plant. This means farming is inherently more difficult in Europe. This meant that early humans mostly relied on hunting and scavenging over farming. Those are inherently more individualistic and tribal than farming a rice paddy. This difference can also show why East vs. West has such opposing views on dogs (dogs were needed in the West to hunt and protect smaller populations from wolves and other predators, while in the East dogs were a nuisance that didn't serve the same purposes).

Contrast this further with Africans who never left that continent. They have the worst situation of all since it's much harder to growth things in Africa, the flora and fauna is far more deadly, and the lack of navigable rivers across the entire continent means that unless you're on the coasts you cannot begin trading beyond the tribes a few days away.

Result? Asians are the most populous, physically the weakest, they prioritize harmonious living and stability. Contrary to popular belief they are not the "smartest". They are extremely rigid in their thinking in order to promote community harmony, they do not rock the boat. Their intelligence is usually rooted in rote memorization since memorization tests are the only way Asian cultures can separate the smarter people from the chaff. Compare this with Europeans who promote critical thinking and problem solving, traits that naturally come out in a harsher environment. Africans are doubly fucked in that they all basically suffer from childhood malnutrition and even if they make it to adulthood with an 100 IQ, the lions and tigers will kill them.
