No one respects surgical oncologists and medical oncology pays shit and all the patients hate them. Within 5-10 years ever major surgical procedure will be fully replace by a form of SABR and already is. Thoracis already lost early lung ca; pancreas and renal to be replaced soon by SABR. Every innovation is in radiation oncology delivery and fractionation. Maybe you should stick to a schtick you can handle better, like your dying speciality of neurosurgery, where the only work now is in shady back procedures.

Radiation Oncology is getting NOWAGd for the simple fact everything is hypofractionation and SABR. There are no advances in med onc. The few immunotherapy agents that work, barely work, and the fervor has died out.

Neurosurgery is one of the very worst specialties I can think of. But if you enjoy it, do it. The problem with you is everything that forms your identity is about your conception of what your shitskin parents want you to be. It must be a very depressing way to live life.
