Similar to something like Man on the Moon, Eternal Sunshine, Robin Williams in good will hunting, or half the shit Steve Carrell does. It piques critics’ interest for some reason and they always show a bias for these types of Films imho

I think it was showing some growth and movement as a filmmaker from him into something more personal and less reliant on nods to other directors and technical know how.
That said it’s not one of his “great” films but i think it still holds up and is an interesting film. |
