Is Zion National Park overrated? Seems like Moab (Canyonlands) is more scenic?

Zion has two world class hikes. Angels landing and the canyon one.
Canyonlands is gorgeous w amazing views but it’s all desert.
For a first time I would spend time in Zion and do one of the hikes. Then domcanyonlands drive by style. |

However, Canyonlands is 40 minutes from Arches and there is other 180 stuff around Moab as well so as a package the Moab area is better. Moab/Arches is cool for like a day trip and I would love to go mountain biking there with a group for several days, but not that great for more than a day (even just a long afternoon) with young kids. Zion is really just one valley so you can probably hit all the high points and best trails in a couple of days and then head over to Bryce. |
