Howard Roark is the hero/ideal/independent man. The story is basically about him.
Peter Keating is the striver pretty boy who tries to be everyone's friend while also being a ruthless backstabber. He'd do well in BIGLAW.
Gail Wynand is an alpha businessman but obsessed with power/control over others and ultimately experiences the limits of that power. Tragic figure.
Ellsworth Toohey is the pure shitlib who gets his kicks off of controlling other people.
