Date: June 25th, 2022 12:45 PM Author: Motley Kitty I was at a bar recently and ended up sitting next to a group of middle aged liberal "bros" hanging out. All white males of course. Mainly government and university employees.
They were bitching about "business guys" on the board of trustees not understanding why they needed unprofitable make work jobs at the college, etc. Also threw in some stuff about watching the January 6 hearings and marijuana. But the cultural stuff seemed more like a thinly veiled attempt to assert themselves against their economic overlords. It seems like a lot of lib stuff is just educated UMC or middle class people resenting the rich, and trying to establish themselves as being better than proles, without wanting to come out and say it. |

This mutual friend is legit seriously rich and has had a career running his family's company. Super nice and humble guy BTW. The rich guy and the lawyer went to school together as children at the local private school, but then the lawyer ended up leaving the private school and graduating from the local public high school.
Anyway, once I was talking to this other lawyer and said, Hey, you know so and so, don't you? The lawyer said he did, got kind of a pained look on his face, and then went on this bizarre tangential rant about how much racism there was in our area. He started going on about the "crusade" for school desegregation and how all the locals had been rednecks, racists, etc. for opposing it. |
