I jumped over to go grab it and the ground was all mud underneath what I later found out were stinging nettles. Slipped and knee went wrong direction. I've had surgery on it before.
I made an awful sound and my kid instantly started freaking out. He couldn't keep his fucking cool. I actually told him to pause and collect himself. This was a life lesson and he's got shit to do for me, no time for crying. He did a tad better but still was scatter brained. I basically crawled from the swamp covered in mud to my car. Lost like $20 in fucking balls. |

They've had me sitting on a hard chair for 3 hours now. Never offered me ice or anything. Just doing this to get x-rays for next mri. |

I recall the first time I hurt the knee (on a wakeboard) before I even sunk in the water I was thinking about how I didn't submit my accidental insurance form for college. |

Of course when it happened it was insane pain. That part is very acute. And it's also a terrible sense when your body just gives out and says 'nope, wrong way bro'. That part hurts.
I did have a bucket tear that got trapped in the joint which hurt pretty bad.
Where are you on surgery? If the acl is torn obviously but otherwise? |

The physical therapy is on-site and everyone was dressed all sporty. The Dr was a woman that initially gave me pause. She was super hot so I was skeptical. However she got down to business and was very hands on working the joint and checking x-rays. Other Dr's went right to scheduling an mri but she said not yet. They also don't do regular mri, but only with dye injections.
She didn't think I tore my acl. And even though I've had 5 centimeters of my miniscule taken out I still had decent spacing. She did call me out for being over 40 and I need to adjust my expectations on the body ... don't jump fences anymore. But she did encourage me to keep doing shit like skiing.
If you ever hurt a joint go to a sports based ortho. Don't go to old people places. |
