You should 100 percent go drink at this basement hotel bar. Every single time I've been there I've seen a celebrity (by DC standards, but Jimmy Carter and Arianna Huffington were two of them) and the night has gotten crazy. The drinks are strong.
The bartenders are also super nice and will comp drinks if you're an enjoyable patron (which is helpful, because they're $15 each).
I'm not kidding, this is one of the last great drinking institutions left in America. |

Quill at the Jefferson hotel is the kind of place girls like to have a fancy drink, so you're gf may be happy to visit there. Fair warning it was supposedly Obama's spot, though I've never seen and proof of that.
Also, obviously, rocket bar. |

I was making progress. It seemed like a good time to get a drink, and we were near Chinatown, so I suggested we stop in at this bar my internet friends had been telling me about. With trepidation, she followed me down the stairs, and at the bottom I turned around to face her, and saw all interest drain from her face as she surveyed the place, decorated as it was with game tables, darts and cheap colored lights. The cold bitch Slav was back. I hoped a drink would warm her up again, so after I ordered for myself, I asked her what she wanted. Nothing. She wanted nothing, not even water. Suddenly, it was time for her to go. She had a thing she had to do. Less than a minute later, I was alone. I've never been back to that bar.
Anyway, that's the bar you should go to. The name should be obvious by now. |
