She said she didn't even go to the law school but that it was some interdisciplinary class. This was summer of 2007, when Obama wasn't on fire yet, but it seemed like people thought he was god.
Anyway this woman was working for Edwards' campaign and insisted she was supporting Edwards because she sincerely believed he was the best guy for the country. I asked her why she wasn't supporting Obama and she just said something like "he isn't really the person he presents himself as" and muttered something about interacting with him "after class." I met some other connected lawyers who were big Edwards supporters that same year and one of them is now team Hillary and a big rising star. We only met briefly but I think he hated me. |

Completely. I didn't expect to see him there at all. I was at the GosDuma to sit in on a special session involving a bill on gas and mineral deposits. Zhirinovsky was a surprised guest that showed up at the end and stole the show. Then after they had everyone in the audience go to meet him. The bros that were with me tried to coach me on how to avoid getting noticed and fortunately, I briefly spoke to him and got out without him realizing he was talking to someone with either American or Ukrainian background (both would have been really bad). |
