Ukraine astronomers have imaged UFOs moving 282/kps several miles up

A case in point is a paper recently posted on a scientific server by three scientists from the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. For their study, Boris Zhilyaev and colleagues used two observation stations — one in Kyiv, and the other 120 kilometers away. Color video cameras recorded objects moving across the daytime sky at high speed, with exposure times set to just one millisecond and the frame rate set to no slower than 50 frames per second.
The cameras did record several hits. Some of the objects were luminous, while other very dark objects registered zero albedo, meaning they reflected no sunlight. What all of the objects shared in common, though, was that they were moving at extremely high velocities — up to 282 kilometers per second. Compare that with the Earth’s escape velocity of 11.2 km/s, which is the speed required to overcome our planet’s gravity and escape into space. No physical human-engineered object could get close to such velocities within the Earth’s atmosphere. Yet based on colorimetric methods, the scientists determined that the observed objects were only a few miles above our planet’s surface. |

I believe this because the evidence is overwhelming. It's reasonable to believe that they are going to pay special attention to active war zones. beyond that I have no idea why they are here and what they are doing. There just isn't enough evidence.
I will note that it's hard to believe that whoever is doing thousands of cattle mutilations are just nice pleasant and friendly bros and it's also hard to believe that they are out to destroy us. If that were true I am pretty sure they could have done it by now. So evidence is conflicting. I know enough to admit I don't know. |

And his big gripe is that science is took quick to unscientifically rule out the possibility of alien tech just because scientists fell like it makes them feel kooky so it makes some sense that he regularly challenges the notion that something must not be alien. |

Date: September 22nd, 2022 11:27 PM Author: violet whorehouse boiling water It's not unscientific to say terrestrial explanations have to be ruled out before extraterrestrial ones can be ruled in. That's on the level of Occam's razor, a heuristic that's proven its utility since time immemorial.
Oumuamua is what made him famous too, and it's the same schtick. Sure, oumuamua could be a space probe or something, but there's no evidence to suggest that it is. All we can say about it right now is that it's inconsistent with what our models predict. Any time something inexplicable happens, Loeb puts forth a plausible sci-fi explanation that everyone latches onto, then he does a whole new round of paid speaking engagements. But his explanations add nothing to our knowledge, they are just theories dreamt up by a creative intellectual. |

If you said you disagree with his interpretation of the evidence I would respect your position more. The shape/composition of it, the fact that it accelerated the way it did, and the fact that it was at local rest when our solar system came upon it, is all evidence that supports his thesis. Not suggesting it’s the only possible explanation and I don’t think he is either.
You haven’t actually read his stuff and you’re just repeating what you’ve heard. |

You cannot say "the shape/composition" is evidence it came from alien life forms," and you won't say it, because you've done nothing to rule out random chance as an explanation. All anyone can say about this object is that none of our models predict it. You can't say "Avi Loeb's theory predicted it" because Avi Loeb didn't predict it. He just looked at the available data and connected the dots like the ancient Aztecs who thought the stars were literally demons trying to murder the sun.
For that matter if you think it's solid evidence aliens exist I'll point out that Loeb himself won't even say that. |

Again, go actually read it and you’ll see he doesn’t just say “hurr durr shape and composition” he explains why it’s unlikely for it to be random chance or natural phenomenon.
Your last sentence is just a repeat of an effort to straw man this as something it’s not. No one is saying OMG they’re among us because of that object. |

Have you ever heard NDT talk about the government UAP report or UFOs in general? He's hardly willing to even engage on the issue and to the extent that he does it's to dismiss it entirely. Scientists are far too concerned with their reputations to even allow for the *possibility* that the WOW signal, Aguadilla/Tic Tac/Nimitz/etc UFO incidents are extraterrestrial intelligence. They don't want to be seen as fellow travelers with legit UFO crazies. Sean Carrol takes him apart on his Mindscape podcast, puts him in a box in the first 15 minutes and keeps him there for the rest of the dialogue. He saw through Loeb, saw he was all about dat money (as is Sean Carroll, who is still butthurt about being denied tenure at UofC). It's like watching two frauds go at it and seeing one clearly dominate the other. I'm fine with looking for E.T. but Loeb is pure grift.
