Just because you paid a lot for your knife doesn't mean it's appropriate for all circumstances.
Furthermore a knife that can cut through brush (or a car tire, or whatever) can be cheap as fuck. Machetes are cheap.
Also underappreciated for some reason are prybars. Extremely cheap and versatile and come in WIDE range of sizes. I used to have a 8 ft prybar that local utility workers forgot at a worksite. |

In hindsight, my lack of knowledge of the applicable physical principles is likely to blame, namely that Force/Area=Pressure.
A much, much better tool for smashing windows is something that concentrates the force of a blow onto a very small area, such as a rescue hammer, as even moderate force can generate the pressure necessary to shatter glass. |
