For example there are certain knives that in certain circumstances you want to have in your car, like a knife that's big enough to cut tires or even brush. Just because you paid a lot for your knife doesn't mean it's appropriate for all circumstances.

Furthermore a knife that can cut through brush (or a car tire, or whatever) can be cheap as fuck. Machetes are cheap.

Also underappreciated for some reason are prybars. Extremely cheap and versatile and come in WIDE range of sizes. I used to have a 8 ft prybar that local utility workers forgot at a worksite.

A lot of knife makers also make titanium edc prybars.

I've considered getting a Vero fulcrum. Seems useful and also has driver bits.

to pry shit apart without having to damage your knife. one example is opening a soda can. i have a lot of trouble getting a grip on the tab with my fingers. it would be helpful to pull out a small prybar.

the driver seems useful too. a lot of times i have to change batteries in remotes and kids toys and they have tiny screws.

it's only $95. seems worth it to me. there's a huge Vero knife cult following which I don't understand. All his knife designs are ugly and look the same and the knives are made by a mid-level chinese OEM (bestech) and sold for jacked up prices.

I'll usually have the hatchet in the trunk and a lug wrench tucked between the driver's seat and the center armrest, EDC in the center armrest. The lug wrench that comes with your car is usually solid steel, nice and short with a weight on the end.

Lug wrench is good for smashing car windows in a pinch. It's not a great weapon. I had a telescoping baton but it got stolen. The $20 ones are fine if you're not using it daily. I bought a lulzy one in Asia once, with big spherical weight on the end of some kind of spring tip. It looked like it could put a hole in someone's skull.

I am admittedly a twink faggot with a tiny baby sized pecker, but as a young sapling of just 18 years, I attempted to smash the windows out of a dude's late model Honda Accord with the lug wrench out of a slighty older Honda Accord and, despite multiple attempts, was unable to successfully shatter the glass. In hindsight, my lack of knowledge of the applicable physical principles is likely to blame, namely that Force/Area=Pressure.

A much, much better tool for smashing windows is something that concentrates the force of a blow onto a very small area, such as a rescue hammer, as even moderate force can generate the pressure necessary to shatter glass.

Yes dedicated glass breakers have a spring-loaded mechanism with pointy end, but you can shatter front and rear windows more easily, and you really only need to whack it hard enough to show you mean business, not that different from waving a tree branch at a charging bear. There's nothing dumber than brandishing a weapon but maintaining a defensive posture. Most people when you smash their rear window are going to get back in the car and drive off.

NOTHING has ever worked better day to day in the hood than a baseball bat. You just gotta be fast. One guy drives the Cadillac, at least two guys with bats are in the backseat. Driver pulls up, two in the back get out and crack heads, then get right the fuck back in the car and get out.
