You can tell the type of explosive by the damage. One tell will be if pics are released, maybe not a tell because you can’t determine country of origin from the damage, only the type of explosive. This is why the international waters thing is so interesting. Who all is going to fix it (Germany? Russia? Or Denmark and Sweden in their respective economic zones).

One angle I heard recently is it gives russia an excuse to park its Baltic fleet there for a while. Not sure that really matters as they could do that anyway.
