The JASSM-XR (range of 1,200 NM, ~1,500 miles) is in production right now.
1,500 mile around the Taiwan Strait is a LOT of ground to cover. American bombers can take off from Japan, launch their missiles, and land safely 20 mins later. There's nothing China can do about it other than try to go on the offensive and attack American bases in Japan, Philippines, etc. Good luck launching largest naval invasion in history of man AND fighting greatest military alliance in human history AT THE SAME TIME.
