I think people are missing the role of Turkey in all of this. German recalcitrance is significant but Turkey decides whether Sweden and Finland get into NATO and that looks increasingly unlikely. Turkey also wants F-16s, and they won't be happy if Ukraine gets F-16s while their request gets denied. Maybe that's why Ukraine isn't begging for F-16s even though they would be more useful than Leopards. |

The wrecked convoy videos from February came alongside reports of 20k Russian KIA, yet there was no evidence any Russians were killed in those attacks. In many videos the doors were open in the vehicles, and no signs of blood or corpses, so either the passengers and drivers got away, or the convoys were looted before the drones showed up and it's just dumb luck that we never saw a single KIA |

Looks like Ukraine is getting the tungsten armor too. Otherwise why place fresh orders? They may have wanted the DU armor but the US may be wary of losing those to Russia. All of these tanks should be designed with self destructing electronics, though I'm not sure how that would work since the crew needs time to escape in the event the tank is disabled. It would have to be timed to do it on its own and not require the crew to do anything. |

No one can explain why the central government stayed focused on it after Soledar. It looks like they just didn't want to take the propaganda hit. The tank talk was ill timed because it has no bearing on the immediate situation. They could have probably gotten more tanks more easily if they asked for them against the backdrop of a strategic withdrawal coupled with an internal ethics cleanse. They should be conserving manpower and protecting doods rn.
If they get spanked anywhere right now what can they do? They spent all their diplomacy credits on weapons that take time to arrive. They should just ask for NATO to send troops. They need a DMZ or some shit. |
