So far so good "champ".
Decent full time permanent job, that I actually like, with upward mobility. Between 10 and 12 weeks vacation a year, during which I can work overtime and earn double for that period.
Making enough that we can pay for my kid to go to private school. Own our own home plus a commercial property that we rent.
Finishing PhD which means an automatic pay increase.
And as with all the GenXers I know, I eat healthy and get regular exercise. Last health check (full covered, no $ out of pocket) I was given full clean bill of health and I'm told my body is that of a person 10 years younger than me. Probably the socialized medicine that keeps my life expectancy pretty damned good, "champ". I've already lived longer than my Greatest Generation grand parents did, many of my Silent Generation parents, aunts and uncles, and even some of my Boomer later Uncles and earlier cousins.
Just so you know, "champ", Gen X goes beyond US boarders.
I'll throw out a generalization: I'd say Gen X is the Critical Thinking generation. We are young enough to grew up with the burgeoning information superhighway and old enough that we did not get our brains rotted by smart tech.
