But it all went down so fast -- what really happened? Is it possible that our governance system could collapse as quickly? Why or why not?

Ie there was no elite replacement in Russia after SU fell. Real dissidents were embittered watching this play out as they thought they would be ascendant after the collapse - lol nope
Basically the transition happened so globohomo could rape the Soviet’s resources more directly after SU’s economic inefficiencies grew too costly |
