I spent $18k on ballet and baseball last year for 4 kids. Mostly for the ballet.

None of my kids are particularly remarkable and I don't expect scholarships or anything. It's just for the social impact.
Most of the costs are the monthly dance bill which is just under $1100. The travel ball team is $4000. Fuck it might be more than I thought. |

You can really tell who practices consistently by age 10. I didn't even play growing up and I spot ticks on swings all the time now. That's to say nothing of in game stuff like check downs and who backs up which position for a given play. Then Pitching is a whole other beast.
We were on vacation playing catch and I had a former scout staying next to us and he came over and mentioned he could tell my son had put in lots of practice time just based on a few throws. |

Some families make these multi day events like a vacation. Dads will have full on bars in their room. Another family was nice enough to take my son to baseball Friday. Today we have opening day games and ceremony (I score keep). After 5 I drive back to the hotel for the convention. That runs until about 10:00. It's fucking wild. These little girls go absolutely nuts screaming and yelling. I'll stay the night then drive home Sunday morning for 10:00 baseball practice (travel team). We did wed mass but missed last week.
Only actual enjoyable part was fucking my wife in the bathroom. She was nice and left a pair of her panties under my pillow that I found when turning down the bed. Here we go... |

My son is gonna be prob around $5k next year between soccer, basketball and some other shit.
