Alcoholism has been a constant struggle and it affected my grades and LSAT score. In fact, I was intoxicated during the test. Despite these struggles, I believe that Columbia Law School is still a realistic option for me for one reason: my father's work as an aviation class action attorney. I have been inspired by him since childhood and have always wanted to pursue law as a career, and his success in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks only further solidified that ambition.
While some people may have qualms about profiting from tragedy, I am not one of them. In fact, I'm proud to say that my family extracted significant value from lawsuits against the airlines that rose from this tragic event. With that value, we were able to drive luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benzes and Range Rovers, and enjoy the finer things in life.
Inspired by my father's example, and with the education and connections that Columbia Law School would provide, I hope to carry on this tradition of helping victims while also securing myself a financially comfortable future.
If Columbia Law School does not offer me admission, I would most likely attend Fordham, which is a respectable institution. However, the reason why I'm hoping to be admitted to Columbia is that I want to project an image and persona worthy of the best law school in the country.
My future employers, my colleagues, and even my friends will feel the same way. They will want to see someone who has proven that they can attain success at the highest level, which is why Columbia Law School is the only option for me. If Columbia is not to happen, I will still tell everyone I went there anyway, so please admit me to save me the trouble of hiding my origins in perpetuity. |

It is not logical that I can get a gallon of milk from Amazon for $4.50 delivered to my door in 2 hours, but that it should cost $8 at Fairway. I think grocery stores are just realizing that the service they provide is being able to get your groceries the same day and concluding they can get away with charging 24 hour bodega prices, as long as there is at least one cheaper option for most of their main products.
