Date: May 25th, 2023 7:31 PM Author: exhilarant twinkling piazza yes and more importantly a personal connection to the manufacturer. once you land a distribution contract with a manufacturer no other distributor can move their product in your region. so you can imagine how much graft and corruption goes on in obtaining a contract from AB or brown forman or gallo wines. in any other business it'd be a blatant antitrust violation, but it's ok here because "it protects the public health and safety."
manufacturers across the country have had to fight like hell to sell their own product to-go because a manufacturer's license only allows for on-site consumption. the distributors and retailers lobby against it because it cuts them out - i mean uhh it endangers the public health and safety.
it's a total fucking racket. |
