While Russiamos and Ukrainemos can’t agree about much in this war, we do seem to agree on one thing: Russia’s victory scenario depends on taking Kiev or Odessa (either one will do), and simply taking the Russian-speaking areas of eastern Ukraine would be an ambiguous result which is not a clear victory for either side.

I don’t want to see the goalposts shifted by Russiamos if and when the end result is just a cease fire with Kiev and Odessa in Ukrainian hands.

So we're all agreed?

Odessa is more critical than Kiev for Russia. I would say that they can't really declare a full victory if Odessa is in Ukrainian hands. That's true even if they took Kiev.

So my full victory condition is more strict than yours.

To be fair, I think "if Russia doesn't take Odessa then it isn't a total win" is pretty common thinking among Russians.

To be fair,

CR, this war is over. Has been for years, in fact. Russia lost. Sorry, Putintards -- deal with it!
