Sadly, sweatpants and some kind of shirt with a baseball cap handy in case of an attack of sun. Vehicle was a Ford F-150 crew cab 6 1/2' bed with a shell on the back. At least it was a Ford. 19.4 mpg total, according to the computer, which is usually pretty close.
I enjoyed every place we saw. The biggest surprise and treat was Abilene, TX. Nice small city with clean cut looking people (big air base nearby). We went to dinner at an up scale local beer and grill place. It was prom night and some of the HS girls were eye poppingly hot. Not a fat guy or chick in sight. I wish I had been able to sneak a photo of the one in a red dress. She maxed out on whatever scale you want to use. My wife grumped disapprovingly that they all looked ready to get laid. However, my nuanced eye told me that red dress was not fond of her chadly looking date. Zero conversation or eye contact. Were I 60 years younger I would have cut her off from the pack. There was one other über hottie at the table, but I couldn't see her so well. Many, many 8s. It gave me hope for the youth of America.
We went through Las Cruces, El Paso, Abilene, DFW, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Columbus. Rock in Memphis cracked my windshield, but no road rage or near misses whatsoever. |
