yes you can. you use your legs for like 80%. you might as well say you "can't lift anything over 10lbs" after upper body.

unless you're body building and 1RMing until absolute exhaustion, which you aren't because then you wouldn't be asking this question (or purchasing an elliptical), you can certainly do rowing after doing upper body.

regardless, my point stands: you don't need multiple cardio machines. you should be riding a bike or jogging for cardio anyway and only using a machine when the weather is unseasonable anyway.

bro, reddit is the place where a bunch of hogs will tell you "an elliptical is great! i'm 300lbs and low impact is really helping my weight loss journey" and "$500 is a pretty good machine! i have one and it works great!"

xoxo is where you come for unvarnished truth. go google the home gyms of your favorite athletes and count the ellipticals. it's exclusively for fat asses who will stop using them immediately. sorry that this hurts your feelings for some reason, which is odd because you don't even have one yet.

get an erg. or a bike if you're a pussy. that's all you need.

hth.

you're a twink but you don't want an erg because "you can't do it after upper body?" you're done here man and you're maf about it. being a pumo was a good choice. i can't imagine getting so steamed because someone on the internet criticized ellipticals.

you seem really stupid so let me genuinely break this down for you. wife and i both work out 6 days a week, and we're busy people with 2 kids. not outing where i live but most people aren't going to have hiking trails anywhere convenient to where they live -- let alone have weather convenient for 365 day hiking. to tell someone to "just do hike everyday, dont go to a gym ever" is the most dumb and retarded shit ever" -- they're going to end up hiking once every month at most. plus, if someone only has 20 mins to work out and do some HIIT shit, a hike is just totally not happening. you're so fucking dumb.

An elliptical is kind of complicated and I would imagine could break down, I would want a solidly made one.

I just checked facebook marketplace - a nordictrack elliptical, which I assume is pretty good, goes for like $350-1000 - here is a commercial grade one for $750 https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/hab/d/atlanta-nordictrack-elliptical/7760675591.html

Ive had to take my versaclimber apart a few times for repairs that i did myself.

Also my dad bought some $100 ripoff "climbing cardio machine" after I raved about the versaclimber and it is a complete piece of crap and you feel like you are about to fall over all the time

I think weight is a good proxy for quality. I have a Sole 80 treadmill. It weighs nearly 300 lbs. and has been great. It's sturdy and durable and feels like a gym machine. MSRP is currently $2800. I paid $1600 at Dick's on sale a few years ago. Looks like typical discount price now is about $1900. Sole makes ellipticals, too, but I don't have one.

A home gym bro would be asking about power racks and 28mm vs 29mm barbells.

You're a kike cardiofag.

Little hint for you.

99% of people who buy home cardio equipment never use it.

Your point? Lol at this generic reddittt garbage. 99% of people with gym memberships don’t use them either. Wife and I both worked out 6 days a week for years at the gym

We just built a home gym and are already using it every day with the free eights and pull-up bar we have. Why wouldn’t we use our cardio machine?

MFCR. I (reasonably) assumed you were normies. I retract all criticism and snark and offer much respect for the consistency.

I tend to agree -- and especially for cardio equipment actually.

if im not gonna cheap out on cardio equipment, i'm weary of spending $500+ USED on a good piece of equipment. that's a lot to spend for something where you dont know the condition. electronics break...

suck it up and buy something new?

it's always worth investing more in the highest quality equipment

you can feel the difference

you'll fuck up your body if you have improper form combined with crappy machines

This is why training of any kind with machines is generally retarded, unless you're using some very specific machine for a very specific accessory exercise.

Yes, the cheap ones are shit and you will definitely notice a difference. In my experience they affected the quality of my workouts but perhaps you would have a different take. If you are going to get an elliptical and/or treadmill, get a good one.

I will also offer that I think you should choose one or the other but, hey, it's not my money.
