5:55am: Leave for gym

6:05am: Arrive at gym, lift heavy for 20 min. + cardio for 25 min.

6:55am: Leave gym

7:05am: Home, let dogs out, make lunch for my kids, feed dogs.

7:30am: Shower, get dressed.

7:45am: Breakfast with family, wife gets kids ready for bus.

Take dogs on morning walk.

8:45am: Take my second youngest to pre-k, sometimes dogs come with and we get Starbucks drive thru.

9am: Back at home, now in my guest house office. 4 hours of work.

1pm: Walk dogs

1:30pm: Back in office. 4 hours of work.

5:30pm: Dinner with family, help wife (clean kitchen or give kids bath/get ready for bed)

7:30pm: Back in office. 2 more hours of work.

9:30pm: Kids are all asleep. Wife is breastfeeding baby in bed. I floss and brush my teeth. Usually I am asleep by 10pm.

Not ideal but it's the only way I can get anything done while working from home.

Nothing about that or building other useful skills and the ability to work hard is necessarily likely to promote a desire in a child to be another globohomo robot. If done well it should actually increase the chances that a child feels they have the self-confidence, courage and network of support to take on more ambitious challenges than just getting good grades and gunning for admissions to schools that place into high paying corporate jobs. Are most people lemmings who follow the most obvious and safe-seeming path? Most UMC strivers certainly are and being surrounded by people who think like that is a good way to end up on that track. But for a kid to be able to relate to all different kinds of people and learn from others who aren’t from similar schools/neighborhoods/families, it’s very helpful to have a broad set of social skills to be able to make a greater breadth of connections and have other experiences and opportunities that they can share with their friends.

I don’t know how you’re able to stick to that schedule if you’re a lawyer. Throw in an all-nighter or two per month (or at least being up til 4 or something), days when the client insists on talking at 7am or 10pm or during lunch, etc. I have no ability to keep anything close to this sort of schedule - every day is different
