This film is slow and boring. The demure Haley Joel Osment is supposed to make the film feel spooky, and maybe pairing him across the screen from Bruce Willis who fills the scene with his oversized charisma is what helps the audience not see the visual clues that Bruce Willis’ character can only be seen by Haley’s character and the audience.

So here is my grand theory of this film. Yes, Bruce Willis’s character realizes he is a ghost with unfinished business. But it’s not linear storytelling. What happens in the film is that he is killed by someone with severe mental illness and in those last moments, Malcolm grasps for what kind of awful terrible mental illness could cause such senseless destruction. So he invents a child with the worst possible mental illness ever. The ability to see and interact with the dead. And with this horrible affliction we see the child begin to help the dead and it makes us smile. But upon further reflection we realize the immense weight of what that means. It’s a prison sentence of being forced to be the only one that helps the dead process the emotional weight of their demise. The only one who can help them by interacting with reality, and it doesn’t take long to see that this would certainly lead to crippling CPTSD and burnout, and it would be an existence akin to torture. And it is this realization that the audience and Malcolm have together which triggers the “a ha” I’ve already died moment that allows Malcolm to finally cross over to whatever comes next.

When have I ever barged into someone's thread and made it about me? I never do that. I'm a thoughtful contributor to the discourse. I'm certainly not trying to showboat. Do you really think I'm that good of a writer? Do I really demand an audience every time that I poast?

I honestly have no clue how to interpret that. Every post on this forum has some element of me, me, me. How am I different than anyone else? Yourself included? Why are you in my thread saying, hey everyone look at me I’m calling OP a self-indulgent bloviator!

Should I?
AI Overview No, there is no real mountain in Mont Belvieu. The "Mountain" RealityThe Rise: The city sits on one of the highest natural points in the flat Gulf Coast Prairie, rising only about 85 feet above sea level. The Salt Dome: This small hill is actually the surface expression of the Barbers Hill salt dome lying underneath.
This reminded me of Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach (which I did summit) and "The main hill at Mount Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach is 60 feet tall (and 800 feet long)."
I think I will investigate this further and summit "The Mountain"
Do I need any special gear since this one is higher?

I think they say the approach from the southeast is the most treacherous. You might want to bring your 4” height boosting lift sneakers. We wouldn’t want you to crest the heights and still not be able to see the vista over the sedan domes.
