lol.
no, my iq score matches up pretty perfectly with my other standardized test scores. you guys have seen those iq-standardized test score correlation charts repeatedly.

How much did you prep?
If you took the test relatively unprepped, then that is probably an accurate score. XO is precisely the sort of place where you'd expect to find a high concentration of top 1% types.

No, it's not. There is no way your IQ is sub-130. I'd bet my left arm it's not.
Now, it might be that you had great schooling and maximized your potential, and that with "only" a 130-135 IQ you managed somehow to score a 1550, but that's unlikely. You probably have an IQ in excess of 140, and certainly over 130. By the way, XO needs to stop acting like such IQs are soooo rare. They're not amongst professional people.

this is actually a point where i agree with you. 140 iq is 1 in 200. Considering most people here went to elite schools and were at or near the top of their class in HS (the ones who tried in HS at least) 140ish iqs should not be uncommon here.
what's interesting about intelligent people is that thy don't necessarily feel like they're brilliant -- they're just confused by how dumb everyone else seems to be. Things that are obvious to smarts are difficult for everyone else to grasp.

not being falsely modest just skeptical of some conversion chart you pulled up. i also dont think id score high enough on general knowledge to get in the 150+ range (which is the ceiling or close to it for a lot of tests)
i definitely dont think im dumb (well...aside from in some of my behavior)
the SAT was originally designed as a proxy for IQ, such that a 1000 was roughly equivalent to a 100 IQ, a 1200 to a 120, etc.
the test has been re-normed and target populations changed, so it's no longer a 10:1 exact conversion, but it was fairly accurate until the most recent changes in the mid-2000s.

Julia is just invested in this conversion chart being legit for one obvious reason. LOL at her flattering you to try and get your stamp of approval on it.
(btw you're obviously a smart dude, just LOL'ing at Julia here).

It has nothing to do with whether this chart or any other chart is legit. I'm ribbing you for blatantly selling harrison on the idea that they're legit because you have a vested interest in it. He's skeptical of this particular chart because he's comfortable with the level of intelligence he has, and thinks they might be overestimating it. Neither of those things are true for you. Hence your vested interest in the chartscience.
He's uncomfortable with this chart because XO in general has a false modesty schtick. I don't. That's why you get a bunch of brilliant people who score 1550 SATs claiming they must be sub-130 IQs, or folks like Harrison who are clearly also brilliant "amazed" by the suggestion they may be a 150 IQ.
I don't give a fuck. I'm obviously not that 150-IQ caliber of intellect, but I'm not gonna go around falsely claiming I'm much dumber than I actually am just to appear modest.

I don't think I'm sub-130 nor would I be "amazed" if it turned out my iq was 150. I'm just skeptical, and I'm highly-skeptical of that chart.

Oh I definitely am not claiming I'm dumb (which you'd see if you read above), but I'm not going to care about my IQ score, put stock in some online conversion chart from "IQ comparison site" or brag about my IQ if it is that high.
Half of the people on this site know your IQ. I think that says more about you than it does about them.
i'm saying I don't even bring it up myself very much. xo has created a lore around it because they don't believe me, and this lore engenders numerous threads created by other posters, thus perpetuating endless discussions and lore.
see the guy below for example saying I have a low IQ, for example. if I flatly respond and say I don't have a low IQ, in facts, it's 134, he'll start new threads about "174 IQ Julia" or some shit. And it goes on and on.
