this asshole keeps telling me there are too many connections. I don't speak computer, but that's horseshit. every time a bikini thread pops up this happens.

I have no idea how you're doing that, but that would be a useful feature. I'd like to make the interface even more easily navigable, without altering the look and feel, of course.
I have some ideas. For example, if there was an easy way to jump to (or bring up) the parent message of the message you're reading. Sometimes it's hard to track the antecedent of a response that comes after a long conversation branches off.

I swear this has happened. I click somewhere randomly (without knowing it) and a most recently posted thread pops up in a different format. Hmm. Is this like when I told my Mom I saw Santa in our living room but I was really just dreaming it?
I like that idea re: longer threads. Top-Thread and Top-Post could be ways to break that up.

Well, the most immediate reason was that the site was running slow. My whole server, actually. A bunch of people have asked for a mobile optimized site, so maybe I'll get started on that.

I really need to improve the search indexing. These days, it's the cause of most of the sluggishness on the board. Besides that, I think post speed would hold up well even if the database were larger because of the way it's designed.

Google ads worked and Yahoo to a lesser extent. Both took a shit, Google because of the site content and the Yahoo Publisher program as a whole. The ads I tried a few weeks ago didn't work, because they require purchases.
So at this point, I could either solicit donations, which probably won't be very successful, or I could raise money for the purpose of investing it into some project that would benefit the board. I'd rather do that. People have told me I should pay for law school outlines, but I'm not sure how viable this would be.

outlinedepot.com makes a ton of money, markets poorly, and has a shitty interface. all they have going for them is their giant database of outlines. if you could develop a competing site, i don't think it would be hard to out-market them at all.
