CDC had some of January and almost of all o February to develop a widespread test. It failed. That fuck up is on Trump's appointee. His cabinet is filled with shitty subpar people.
That's not even what I was referring to. Azar claims he lifted the ban on independent lab testing on February 4, but the FDA did not issue any written guidance on this until February 29. The guidance is 8 pages long and could have been written in 24 hours. No one can explain why FDA sat on it for 25 days.
In fact no one has been able to explain why this regulatory prohibition even existed in the first place. It's not clear that it was mandated by the law FDA cited (which was passed in 2009). If anything the law seems to contemplate that such restrictions would be lifted during a public health emergency, but FDA claimed that it was *triggered by* the emergency. And the regulation establishing the prohibition was never even promulgated through notice and comment rulemaking, so the notion that FDA had to go through any sort of formal rulemaking process to lift it seems suspect. This either one of the most egregious bureaucratic snafus in US history, with agency lawyers (among others) fumbling the ball for weeks, or the process was deliberately slow-walked.

The China travel ban seems to be just because it was China. When it came to Italy and South Korea, those advisories are meaningless. There are still fucking direct flights from Milan to JFK. That's horrible inaction.
So far this only mainstream source I've found that delves into this issue, and it reads almost word for word like my email. I literally told him LabCorp should be able to test for this shit on its own, and today LabCorp announced that it would start doing just that.

"President Donald Trump has issued an order that seeks to force General Motors to produce ventilators for coronavirus patients under the Defense Production Act"
this is complete bullshit and maybe the worst thing trump has done as president. is it mishandling the virus situation? perhaps not, but it is handling the situation in a manner that is improper and potentially dangerous.
It’s hard to say if this has been mishandled. We should just concentrate on getting through this and then decide the next election from stock market results before Feb. 2020

President Donald Trump has received his lowest marks yet for his handling of the coronavirus outbreak, with net approval of his leadership on combating the pandemic down 22 points, according to a new Morning Consult poll.
Of 1,984 registered voters surveyed between April 24 and 26, 51 percent said they did not approve of Trump's handling of the outbreak, compared with 43 percent who said they did approve.
As a result, the net approval for Trump's performance, which is determined by deducting the share of those who disapprove from the share who do approve, sat 8 percentage points "underwater," Morning Consult said in a breakdown of its findings.
The negative net approval rating represents a 22-point drop since March 17-20, when a Morning Consult poll found broader support for the president's handling of the coronavirus outbreak.
In the new poll, which had a 2-point margin of error, 41 percent of voters said they "strongly" disapprove of Trump's coronavirus response, which is up 13 points since the mid-March survey.
Meanwhile, the share who strongly approve of the president's handling of the outbreak dropped 7 points.
The record low levels of support come as the president continues to face backlash over his recent remarks suggesting that injecting patients who test positive for coronavirus with disinfectant could be helpful.
In the wake of the president's comments, the U.S. saw a spike in calls made to poison control centers in at least four states.

come on, everyone. the narrative is now that trump is responsible for all of the deaths. hop on the bandwagon!
"Although Obama has largely avoided criticizing Trump’s performance in office, in a call leaked last week the former president described the US government’s coronavirus response as, “an absolute chaotic disaster,”"

the reason nobody posts in this thread is because the things they want to criticize trump for are objectively stupid and can be torn apart easily.
durrr didn't completely shut down for 5 years
durrr people died
durrr states' rights
durrr durrr
we keep hearing fake news say how trump made mistakes and people died, but they never really explain what he should have done differently. this is because libs are duplicitous snakes.
