that doesn't look fake at all. it must rule to be an i-banker and stand around holding drinks with the same 2 girls for (supposedly) hours on end. it's just getting started!

Right before he calls up a third year associate at Sullivan & Cromwell and tells him to hustle with that indemnity agreement -- he doesn't have all night?

becomes his boss. 4th year associates at firms like S&C own their i-banking counterparts once they are employed by the same firm. Excel skills get you so far...

I know plenty of 4th years at my firm who have left to become VPs at i-banks only to report back how much more they know than everyone else they are working with.

No shit, but you're like "oh yea, that lawyer the ANALYST was bossing around, when he's a 4th year at S&C he could move over to a VP role and be HIS boss"

I am an analyst at a BB ibank and I can comfortably say that anyone at work who would act like this dbag would be inecssantly ridiculed and ostracized.
Also, a few things:
1. the girls he was with were not that attractive
2. His daddy bought him that car
3. Owning a really expensive car and living in NYC is one of the dumbest things in the world

boring. these guys are dweebs. and the girls (the 2 that i saw) are only average looking; the white chick is pale and has the body of a 12 year old. in summary, the pleasures that these fags indulge in on the one or two nights they have off are not worth the suffering and humiliation they have to put up with during most days at work.

Wow! Talk about rude and making people feel bad. What are the rules here to getting in. The first time I went I got in, the second time I couldnt. Well as far as looks and style..that night had I on manoloblahniks, seven jeans, and a prada top. So I had the clothes now what? My status..if they wouldve asked me I wouldve told them. I cant walk around with a sign saying who I am. Am I supposed to be Angelina Jolie? Then would I get in!! Well theres only one of her. And frankly there are way more non-actors/models/singers etc in this world, so this club needs to stop trying to cater to just celebs and prestigious people. Because when I was there that one time there was no celeb in sight..and of course models who say they are models( the kind you've never seen anywhere). What I want to know is Why does this club turn away people who want to spend money . Even if they want to be selective why not just give out memberships to people they want to come so others wont have to feel less of themselves when trying to come here. "
wow. this is great. Clubs like that literally cater only to douchebags like this guy, who get off on being around other douchebags and drinking obscenely expensive drinks, and be able to brag about their "$200 cocktail" to their friends at work on Monday morning. I have hung out with guys like this before, who love to brag about buying several bottles of whatever while in the VIP area of some douchey club, and how they dropped $1000 each. Almost without exception they were major douches.

so what he makes ~100k in nyc while working 80+ hours? pretty sweet. not enough for the porsche. ibanking superstars make bank, but chances are in a couple years he'll just be applying to ls or bschool

I doubt B-schools are going to care where he stands in his analyst class, since analyst bullshit isn't really "business" and isn't even real investment banking.
Besides, every investment banker claims to have been in the top bonus pool anyway. Why wouldn't anyone?

that drink was on the owner. but i'm guessing that this guy is older than you guys think. and makes more money than you think. also, maybe his parents are rich.

I like how his "partying" consists of standing in the same corner for hours on end, WATCHING (not dancing with) slightly above average girls. Is he clubbing in someone's treehouse?

New York is full of investment banking analysts who burned out and ended up at construction companies.
IB analysts make a lot of money, but they're like lower-tier professional athletes in that their earnings are quite meager once you consider that (1) they are being paid for the risk of (in this case, psychological) injury, and (2) they will be unemployable, at their current level, in the future. Also, their hours suck. I wouldn't call this character successful.

thats why i liked his style, it was understated, not some shiny gigolo shirt that alot of loser dipshits love to wear. how much more understated could you get before you start looking like some homeless bum?
This actually looks like a reasonable amount of fun. If he were just a little less of a douche I bet he could fuck one of those girls, and neither of them are hideous.
Of course not. The clubs that cater to i-banker douches are just a step or two up from the clubs that cater to lawyer douches. NYC is filled with celebrities and professional partiers who spend full time networking their way into the hottest clubs. No i-banking analyst has the time or money to compete with that shit.
I have no idea. It's constantly changing. Studio 54 was around forever and not necessarily low profile... I don't think anything like that really happens anymore.

i "partied" last night with my GF and some friends with some bottles of beer on the banks of a river. we drank and looked in the water for crawdads to boil in our pot. then we boiled a big pot of crawdads and ate them.
i would rather do that than hire a bunch of skanked-out chicks to stand next to me at an overpriced club in NYC.

it was insanely fun. the back-forth banter as we scrounged the river with flashlights for crawdads was great. it's nice to breathe the cool, fresh air, and sit down with a powerful beer-n-pot-buzz underneath the open stars.
eatin' crawdads with my GF sitting next to me, and my friends passing around the bong... it was great.

the ones around here are plump and fresh-tasting. this is oregon, not louisiana. they live in the rocks of the mountain streams, not the mud of a bayou.
