nut cancer is rarely fatal if caught early, they will remove your nut/nuts and you should be fine. Of all the potentially god awful cancers you can potentially get this is one of the more benign ones out there. Yeah, it sucks, but they will freeze your sperm and you can still probably have kids. Good luck to you if this isnt flame.

my only advice have them operate as soon as possible, seriously if they schedule the operation for a month from now make create a huge scene and have them schedule it for the next day, the doctor may give you a ton of shit about how a week here or a week there doesnt matter but fuck that, they really dont know shit about how much time you can wait. Nothing good will come from waiting, thats for sure.

umm...Maybe they can remove a nut and you'll be fine, but they can't remove nuts and leave you fine unless you had more than two and they leave you one.

i heard testicular cancer is a good cancer to have because the cancer finds it harder to survive in an area outside the testicles because the temp. in the testicles is a couple degrees lower than in the rest of the body

I'm so sorry, you must be in shock. but the good news is that the only person who will notice the difference is you. women won't notice a thing. one less testicle is one less eyesore we have to avoid looking at. no woman enjoys seeing balls, they're gross. it's the penis we care about, and the balls just get in the way. I almost wish I could date you!\
the good news is that it sounds like you'll be fine. and one ball is plenty for procreation purposes. I'm not the least bit worried about you.

so it's malignant? will you have to have chemo? what did the doctor say your chances are? I'm so sorry about this. how old are you? this will no doubt be a life-changing experience for you. but I'm convinced that something good will come from it all. being sick makes you appreciate everything you have a lot more. and once you're healthy again, you'll really appreciate it and will never waste another day sitting on the couch again--you'll be much more productive and active. you still have your whole life ahead of you-- who knows what's in store for you!

you should find an online testicular cancer support group. I know it sounds weird but they have all kinds of strange online chat boards out there--I'm sure they must have this one somewhere, and I think it would be beneficial for you, pschologically, to be able to talk to other people who have gone through this or are going through it with you.

my dad had prostate cancer, he didnt let it get him down, you shouldnt let it get you down either. Granted, his cancer was arguably less serious than this, they just took out his prostate, no radiation, no nothing, because they caught it really earlier. He spent 2 days in the hospital and was perfectly fine after two weeks of pissing in a catheter. The lesson I got out the whole experience is never miss a checkup and if something hurts or you are peeing every 30 minutes dont be afraid of some guy shoving his finger up your ass because that finger will save your life.

whatever you decide to do, you need to actually make a decision. either commit to finals or go to the dean and see if you can weasel out of the semester or at least postpone finals.
You'll definitely regret the "fuck everything" approach in 2 years if thats what you decided to take.

if you could get cancer only from fucking or needles, like AIDS, i wonder if anyone would get it?
have you selected a prosthetic nut yet? i wonder if there is some status hierarchy -- like with wrist watches or rims. a platinum ball would be cool, or maybe a semi-precious gem, like an opal, that is conducive to being cut in the shape of a testicle.

Dood, all joking aside, this really isn't that bad. Sounds like it's not likely to be terminal, and having one nut is simply not a huge deal. All you need is your dick. Girls are not likely to care as long as your weiner is intact. There are WAY worse things that could've come from this.

Cecil replies:
Among conspiracy buffs, this is what is known as (ahem) the lone-nut theory. (Note to the Teeming Millions: Hey, I got a million of 'em.) But let's get serious. The case of Hitler's missing testicle is one of many bizarre twists in the life of one of history's most bizarre hombres. (Another is the never-proven allegation that Hitler's paternal grandfather was Jewish.) The bit of doggerel favored by your landlord probably goes something like the following, originally sung by British Tommies during World War II to the tune of the "Colonel Bogey March":

dude, this is his ticket to SCOTUS:
"In the process of running to catch the truck, Thurgood got caught on the tailgate and injured his testicle. Marshall lost one of his testicles because of the incident and did not get back to Lincoln until the fall semester of 1928. His friends had a new nickname for him: One Ball."
this happened to a friend of my uncle's... he didn't get it taken care of in time, and he died at age 40 (kind of late for testicular cancer). the ironic thing was he was a family practitioner: a DO from Michigan State. left a wife and two kids.
he shouldn't guilt himself about not going earlier; a doctor who should fucking know better ignored his own symptoms. plus that was a dozen years ago, before they had all these new chinese rat drugs for cancer.

this is true. I've heard that most men die *with* testicular cancer (not from it). meaning most men have the disease for like 20 years and then end up dying of something else like a heart attack. sounds like it's super common and not any worse than a benign cyst or something. still, if I were you I'd get it removed asap. find the best doctor you can find and do whatever he says you should do.
Date: November 3rd, 2006 7:26 PM Author: Blue sandwich
oh you're right, sorry. well anyway, as I said before: one less testicle we girls have to look at makes the world a better place. just nip this in the bud-- don't beat around the bush. the longer you wait-- the more you let inertia take control of you-- the worse your chances will be. deal with it in full force now and you will live a long and healthy life.

what the fuck is your problem retard. one day you're gonna get a terminal illness, and when you do, you'll remember what you wrote (above), and will not only die sick and alone, but you'll die sick, alone, and feeling like a guilty, regretful idiot. enjoy.

TABLE 1
Staging and Five-Year Survival Rates in Patients with Testicular Cancer
Stage Criteria Five-year survival rate (%)
I Confined to testicle 98
II Metastases to retroperitoneal nodes; sometimes categorized as bulky or nonbulky, depending on size and number of involved nodes 97
III Metastases above the diaphragm or to visceral organs 72
Follow-up and Prognosis
Many of the deaths that are related to testicular cancer are a result of severe metastatic relapse after inadequate follow-up. It is all too common for young males to believe they are cured after a few negative follow-up visits and to then forgo routine examinations. Testicular cancer is a disease in which even recurrence is highly curable, especially if detected early.

seriously, how can we protect ourselves if we don't know what it looks like? i'll check to see if i have it; fulano et al will certainly check everything down there inclduing his sperm upon seeing the pic.
OP, i am really sorry, but like the others say above, its very treatable.
I have had a pain on one side of my back that is getting worse. its been there for years. I finally went to the doc this week to complain about it. She said I should have a back xray just to check. I have been putting off going to the xray place, but you post has now prompted me to take action and get the xray done to be sure its not somethign else.

Did you tell your parents? What did they say? I can't imagine telling my parents something like this--they would absolutely flip out.

i dunno but a good friend of mine also had testicular cancer a couple years ago. he was in his mid 20s. very common cancer in young men and his story prompted me to routinely scratch my balls at night guilt-free on a regular basis. that's what he was doing when he discovered his lump.
