I realized luxury costs were total flame when I stayed the night in a historic and huge mansion and realized it was just a big building, like any other big building. The price had nothing to do with any features or enjoyment you might experience.
Same thing with food. Your palate can't tell the difference between a $1000 dinner and a $70 one. The differences lie in presentation and the rest is placebo.
Then when I learned about why a certain wine was so expensive. It's just that the way they grow the grapes isn't profitable for most wineries, so most wineries don't grow that variety that way, leaving far fewer bottles of this wine being produced, leading wealthy chinese and americans to think it must be *better* and pay laughable sums for it.

After housing, food, and some money for family vacations, there really isn't anything to buy. If I was worth 100 million instead of 20 million my life wouldn't change at all. Not a single bit. Only difference is that I would probably quit/sell my firm much sooner.
Money is mostly flame. The only benefit to having a lot of money is that you don't have to take shit from people and you can buy your time back. Things like housekeepers, paying for front of the line stuff, etc is well worth the money. Luxury goods are total flame and not worth it at all. Also, I've noticed most "luxury" experiences are shit too.
I would rather go on a 180 Royal Caribbean Cruise than some Four Seasons cruise for 10x the price. Most bulk consumer shit is way better than "custom" or "luxury." People just lie to themselves because they want to feel special.

To me this looks like a terrible vacation. I do not understand cruising at all. I used to think it was glamorous but XORSF made me change my mind when he described what luxury yachts on the Med were really like.
If I ever took a cruise it would be an RCL cruise to RCL’s CocoCay with my family, which was described as 180 by XOCSLG.
I have been in many cruise ships, but never been cruising. Probably won’t go either as nothing about it appeals to me. The main attraction seems to be eating too much and drinking too much. I am reformed in this regard.
